Your handgun and rifle combo

If you were faced with the tough decision of keeping only one handgun and one rifle, what would your choices be?

That would be a tuff decision. I have so many purpose built or bought firearms. I guess I would have to go to my SHTF set up, Cz P09 and my milspec 16 in AR. Although neither is good for big game hunting in Maine. Abilities to scrounge ammo for both should be easier than say my one of my 35's.

Mine would be the G19. It’s not the most flashiest, but it’s dependable, and parts and magazines are easy to come by. Plus, 9mm is super common. On the rifle side, I’d definitely go with my AR-15 in 5.56 for the same reasons you mentioned. I know it’s not perfect for hunting big game, but if I had to make it work, I’d rather have something that I can keep stocked and running smoothly.It’s a tough choice, though. I’m tempted to say a .357 revolver and a lever-action rifle for their versatility, but when it comes down to it, practicality has to win out if I can only have one of each.
