Well , another deep question , I can't say for daily use as the most used are my carry guns that both shoot irons. But for the beat up and long lasting. I have a 1022 that I bought in 1985 used. Soon after mounted a scope my father had kicking around and it's been there ever since. It's a Japanese Eagle 2.5x32. All steel, probably built in the late 60's to early 70's. But it has a single post reticle. Similar to a German #1/#4, but not horizontal/cross hair , just the pointed post. I have ran 10's of thousands of rounds through it. Been coast to coast multiple times, carried in everything thing from sub zero snow in Maine, 110 degrees in the desert in California, to bouncing through the mountains of Colorado. I can't remember the last time I had to make an adjustment . Just put the tip of the post on your target out to about 60 yards and blase away. She is old ugly and has plenty of scratches, but rock solid. Been on that rifle since probably 1986, never taken off, why mess with it if it works.
