I'm curious if anyone has run into reliability issues with hollow-point ammo when the temperatures fall below freezing.
Clothing in winter basically becomes a variable nobody talks about until you actually see how much it changes performance.I don't find cold weather it self make hollow point less effective. But the heavy cloths that we in the north wear from November to March. They can clog the hollow and effect expansion . With my gun and magazine on my belt it's amazing every night how warm they stay when I remove them for the night.
I agree, between 180 and 230 grains of projectile will stop and make a bad guy think about his life choices.A .45 is already big going in. That's why it makes a good choice when heavy clothing is involved.
