Taurus 1911 won't fire

Im having issues with my Taurus 1911 that’s about 5 years old. Suddenly it won't fire when I test it out again to the range yesterday. Tried racking the slide, chambered a round, pulled the trigger, and the hammer dropped, but still nothing happened. What should I check?

Would check the firing pin, take a FIRED case put a small piece of masking tape over the primer and attempt to fire. Remember empty fired case. If there is a mark from the firing pin that's good. Then it could be ammo. If not it could be firing pin broken or worn. It could also be internal safety features failing to unlock the firing pin. First start with a complete breakdown and cleaning of the slide, reassemble and try the above test again.
