Do I need a thread protector, or can I just skip it to keep things lighter?
Sometimes simple fixes are the best ones especially when it saves you from the Rambo aestheticAluminum thread protectors are really light weight. I got a good deal on a Ruger 10/22 that had a hideous flash hider on it, some type of Rambo fashion statement....Anyway, the ugly had to go so I ordered a simple aluminum tread protecter off eBay and have been happy ever since.
Don't get me wrong. Some guns benefit from a brake on the blast end of the barrel, but a .22lr doesn't need or benefit from a flash hider!Sometimes simple fixes are the best ones especially when it saves you from the Rambo aesthetic![]()
You can always just 3D print one... Lots of different designs out there. I'd be happy to make one for you.Do I need a thread protector, or can I just skip it to keep things lighter?
