Outdoor stores

As someone who's new to outdoor sports, I'm looking for a shop here where the staff is approachable and welcome to answer any newbie questions I might have. Any suggestions?

Well that depends on your location. Kittery Trading Post is a great location. But it's in the far south of the state. it's about 90 minutes from me and I only make it down there 3 or 4 times a year now. They have a great online store though. used and new stock is online, one of the first thing I do in the morning. They do have a lot of turn over in the staff. Sadly only a few that have serious longevity. Been a regular for over 20 years.
