I’m still getting the hang of this and when I browsed the revolvers at my local store, it seemed like the only calibers they had were .22 and .38. I figured there had to be something in the middle but I wasn’t sure enough to ask the guy behind the counter, so… here I am.

There are, but not to many and most are or close to in the obsolete. There are 32's but with the exception of the 327 Federal not in current production. There are alot of shooters that have a real passion for some of those older 32's . Is there are interest in something between the 22 and 38 or just information hunting?

Stores usually carry what sells the most, so you mostly see .22s and .38s. I found a .327 Federal a while back and it's a good in-between size.

Years ago .32acp was very popular as were .32 Long revolvers. In fact, I just picked one up from an auction site (can we mention the site and not violate the rules?). It was made in about 1920/21. It's a S&W .32 Hand Ejector 3rd model. The issue is finding ammo for them. I order it online and then reload the brass I get from after shooting the factory ammo. In addition to the one below I have a S&W model 30-1 snub nose round butt in .32 Long, and a NAA Guardian in .32acp.
When Bullseye pistol shooting was popular there were a few high-end semi-auto target pistols in .32 Long that were made to shoot only wadcutter ammo.
The hammer spur is broken off so if I can't find a replacement hammer, I will bob it.

There are three different threads this could be apart of.

But my Great Grandfather was the police chief in Owosso, Michigan back way before I was born, yes that was along time ago. This was his off duty carry gun. Top break Iver Johnson in 32 S&W. He carried it in a soft leather flapped holster, still have it somewhere. There were many made but this one is special . Only markings on the whole thing is the serial number on the trigger guard and the name, IJ, on the grips.

Old family guns are the best!
