Recently, I've been getting more into target shooting, and I'm thinking about exploring some long-range shooting with my Savage .308. I'm glad to be here and eager to learn from everyone in the community! Happy new year to everyone.

Welcome , I know I spoke to ya about glasses, but the Savage 308 could be shot in the 3x600 shoots at Scarborough . They shoot them several times a year. I haven't had the opportunity to shoot at Scarborough, but normally shoot the 3x600 at the CMP Games in Vermont. I have a 10FP, the older 26in bull barreled gun. If you decide to try one of them out don't be intimidated by all the fancy stuff you will see on the line. I go with the view that I'm there to get the most out of my rifle and get the experience with it. My teammate and I do just that. Your Savage will fit in the F-TR class. Make sure you have enough scope range for it. You need about 54 clicks, 1/4 moa clicks, with a 100 yard zero . If not get yourself a 20 moa base. The first time I was getting ready to take mine to Vermont I realized I was short and had to get a base, it came in 2 days before we departed, way less time than I would like. You can benefit from my screw up.
