Does anyone here run the Remington 870 20 gauge lightweight barrel? How does it compare to the standard, are there any issues with durability or patterning? And for those who've shot both, is there a real difference in balance or handling that makes the lightweight version worth picking over the regular?

I have the lightweight 20-gauge barrel on my 870 and it swings faster than the standard one, which is great for upland hunting.

Patterning is solid with #6 shot, but I noticed the finish wears quicker than the heavier barrel. Stick with quality ammo like Federal Premium for tight patterns.

If you're thinking about setting up something that's easy to handle for home defense, taking to the field, or even for the kids, you definitely want to check out a lightweight barrel.

If you’re spending a lot of time walking around or going upland hunting, the lightweight gear is totally worth it. You’ll definitely feel the difference after just a few hours in the field.
